Gift for Duckie: Japanese Bind by DeannaEchanique Gift for Duckie: Japanese Bind by DeannaEchanique
I tied the loose strings together into a bow before I gave it to her.
Inside Cover: [link]
Back Cover: [link]

A japanese stab bind book I made for my friend Duckie. The guy on the left is Duckie's character Traian Mircea, the commander of the Reinheit- a warship in my comic.

The guy on the right is Alastair, and he's the Captain. He's pretty much awesome.

5.5 X 8.5
60ish pages. I didn't bother to count them. I just used every peice of brown paper I could find.

wow that's a very pretty book. Did you do the background, too? Or just add the drawing to the existing background?

I love basically everything about this book. I love the fabric/paper/whatever you used on the cover. The print and the colours on it are excellent. The binding's neatly done which is always a bonus. I hate when people try making books like this and the binding's just a freaking mess.

And um, hello, Traian and Alastair... what's not to love?

They're such fags, it's awesome. Duckie loved the book- she's not sure what she wants to write in it- she says it has to be good. XD

I've been really into earthtones lately, greens, browns, beige, ocean blues. I'm totally going to make some more books. I'm making a leatherbound one right now. If it comes out well, I'll have to pick up some leather and make a few to sell. I'm trying to find GIANT PAPER because I want to make a leatherbound sketchbook. :B

Thanks! Oh god, getting the string through those holes 3-4 times each was such a pain in the ass.
